Classes
Parents/ guardians are responsible for their children at all times and to ensure they are safe at all times (except during a class in their preschool/ nursery setting where the child is not accompanied by a parent/guardian).
Parents and guardians are encouraged to engage with the activities as we recognise the importance of parent involvement.
We are aware that preschool children are still developing emotionally, and that they can be upset easily at times. To ensure the session can continue for the other children in the group, if your child becomes very upset, please use the outside space/corridor area to console them and return to the room when they are ready.
If there is anything we can do to prevent any upset, please let us know.
Customers must inform their teacher of any health issues that may be relevant, including changes in a child’s health or well-being before the start of a class
Customers should arrive and leave promptly to avoid disruption to the rest of the class.
We may, at our discretion, refuse a customer entry to a session or sessions, if it is felt that the customer’s behaviour is unacceptable.
Photography
Photographs and videos of your own child can be taken for your own personal use.
Please DO NOT take or share photographs or videos of other children unless permission has been given by the adult accompanying the child. ***Please be aware that some children cannot be photographed for safeguarding reasons and by showing their whereabouts on social media could put them at risk.***
Please do not take any photos or videos of the teacher unless authorised to do so beforehand.
Lesson Plans
All sessions have been carefully planned over several years and are to be used exclusively in Number Train sessions only. They are NOT to be used without permission for any other purposes.
All lesson plans have been written by, and belong to, Annette Peterson – founder of Number Train. The lessons and ideas are legally protected and should not be copied by others.
If you know of any attempts to copy and use these lessons and our activity ideas elsewhere, please notify Number Train Limited.
There is an art and craft activity each week. We do provide aprons and the paint is ‘washable’ however, we cannot guarantee that paint will come out of all fabrics so please wear old clothes and bring a plastic bag to carry wet artwork home. We do sell Number Train t-shirts for £9.50 which are a great way to keep other clothes clean.
Safety
Customers must follow health and safety procedures as advised by the class teacher and as stated below:
Since we have many children under 3 years old who attend each week or come along with an older sibling, we ask that parents are mindful of this and keep a very close eye on younger children who may put things in their mouth.
Number Train cannot be held responsible for any injury or harm caused due to misuse of our resources or failure to follow the safety measures below.
Safety measures in place:
– Parents/guardians are expected to supervise their own children within the class at all times to ensure they are always safe.
– Parents/ guardians must ensure that the children have appropriate footwear on at all times to avoid slipping on anything as they move around.
– Parents/ guardians to move items out of the way when children are moving around (e.g. baskets)
– Parents/guardians to remind children not to climb on /under tables or other furniture where they could fall or bang their head
– Parents to watch their child closely when handling small items to ensure they don’t put things them in their mouth (or anywhere else) which could cause harm or choking
– Parents/ guardians are to remind the children to move around the room safely and to slow down where necessary
– Parents/guardians to accompany their children if they leave the room to use the toilet
– Parents/ guardians to ensure the children are safe as they arrive and leave the building (young children can move very quickly and the car parks/ nearby roads can be busy. The increase in the use of electric cars means cars can be very quiet too)
– Parents/ guardians to encourage children to play safely around others so others are not hurt as a result of their actions
– Parents and guardians to reporting any injuries, accidents and potential hazards (e.g. spillages) to the class teacher so they can be recorded where necessary in our accident book or added to our risk assessment
– Parents and guardians to avoid feeding children in class at times when they are moving around or dancing to avoid the risk of choking
– Parents and guardians to avoid bringing nuts into class due to the risk to any persons who have a nut allergy
Fees
Fees are payable by via the online booking system in advance. This is a non-refundable block booking for the half term.
Any additional younger siblings aged 2+ will be charged at 50% of the usual price.
If a child is unable to attend a class or classes, due to sickness, holiday or a decision by the customer not to attend, we are unable to automatically refund payment as this secures an ongoing place on our programme.
If Number Train cancels a face-to-face session, you can access it online instead for that week and a 50% refund will be given for that week only. Your teacher will forward the link to watch from home instead that week.
Please allow 48 hours before attending a session following sickness or diarrhoea.
Cancellations
For class cancellations, we will give as much notice as possible. In the event of a last-minute class cancellation, customers will be notified by text message or call to their mobile phone. Please ensure you provide us with up-to-date contact details when you book.
In the case of adverse weather (e.g. snow), when a session goes ahead (because the venue has been judged to be accessible and safe), we are under no obligation to refund sessions that may be missed if you are unable to travel due to adverse weather conditions local to you.
Class times & venues
It is occasionally necessary to change the time or venue of a class. This will only be done if necessary, and we will do our best to keep class times as similar as possible, but unfortunately, this cannot always be guaranteed.
Feedback
We regularly survey customers to ensure that they are pleased and satisfied with the service provided and can support us with positive developments for the future.
Should any issues arise, please speak to your class leader where appropriate in the first instance. If, however, your issue is not resolved, please contact Annette Peterson at Number Train Head Office. We will make every effort to resolve the matter as long as we know there is an issue.
